Week Ahead Dec 9 - 13

HOLIDAY TIME

We are busy practising for concerts and getting excited
for everyone to see them next week.  Vocal and Bell
Choirs are performing in the community this week.
Lots of great holiday activities happening in our classrooms.
This is a busy time of year.

TIPS FOR HAVING A HAPPIER HOLIDAY

1. Try and keep routines that same.  Kids do well with structure.
Schedules will be different, but try your best to keep some
things the same.

2. Make sure you are getting enough sleep.  Everyone appreciates
it when we are well rested.

3. Take time for your wellness. Rest, try not to plan to do so much,
and plan some breaks.

4. Fit in healthier snacks. There are lots of yummy treats are
around, but try to fit in a few fruits and vegetables.
Fruit cake does not count! :)

5. Remember what the holidays are about. Spending family time,
and giving rather than receiving.  You do not have to go overboard,
it does not have to be perfect. Kids really appreciate spending
time with you.  Get outside, go sledding, and play a board game
together.

WINTER WEATHER

We are lucky to have three recesses every day.  Which means, on
most days we go outside. Please help make sure your child is dressed
for the weather. We are seeing a lot of kids not dressed warm
enough and we are very exposed in the back field.  Help us remind them
to put on their toques, mitts, hats and snow pants. If you need warm
clothing, contact us in the office.

CHRISTMAS CONCERTS

We are excited for our concerts next week.  Each concert is about
20 minutes. To help everything to run smoothly, please note some
important information:

You are to enter our school through your child's boot room as this helps
tremendously with wet boots and shoes.  All families will then drop their
child(ren) off in their homeroom classroom and then proceed to
main street.

Families will then line up to enter through the main street gym doors.
The concert doors will open five minutes before the show. Everyone
will find a seat and get ready for the concert.

Once the concert is over, families will exit out of the south door.
They will pick up their child and exit out the same boot room. If
they are seeing another concert, then go and line up again.

The front door will be available for guests coming without students.
If you require extra assistance, please let Mr. Larson know.

Week Ahead Dec 3-6

GOOD THINGS HAPPENING

Thanks for all of the parents that were able to make it out for conferences.
It was great to see everyone. If you did not get a chance, please contact your
child’s teacher. This month is going to be a bit busier, but a wonderful time.
We have our Bell Choir and Vocal Choir performing around the community.

On Friday, we held a whole school assembly and had a great time. Many
students were recognized for filling other people's buckets, for their
positive referrals, talent and sports. We are lucky to have so many great
things happening at Bellevue. From intramurals, student led clubs, sports teams,
bell and vocal choir, and so much more.

Congratulations to our swim pass, pizza lunch winners and Bucket Fillers.

CHARACTER EDUCATION

This month we are learning about patience, waiting for later,
for what you want now.  We are learning different strategies for being
more patience and extending the amount of time we can wait.
We are learning more positive reactions in different situations.
